I grew up in the same house where my parents still live. When I was back for the holidays I noticed some of the little things I usually overlook. Like this pen holder. It’s so cute. It could practically pass as vintage at this point. I have no idea where it came from or when, but it’s been on the counter for as long as I can remember. You can even see the dust that’s collected on it. I wonder how long that dust has been there? Did it start accumulating when I was a 2-, 6-, or 8-year-old? How many of the things that I routinely overlooked are now gone, even from my memory?
I bet if you took the time to look, you’d find things around your own home that give you this sense of nostalgia.
